The secret of Rotterdam

The secret of Rotterdam

The game "The secret of Rotterdam" was commissioned by the Rotterdam Municipal Archives in commemoration of May 14, 2010. Seventy years earlier, the inner city was bombed by German planes. After the war, the center was rebuilt.

The game uses the hidden object game mechanism. The player clicks on objects traveling through Rotterdam as before and after the bombardment. The images are based on maps and photographs from the Municipal Archives.

The secret of Rotterdam consists of fifteen locations where hidden objects are to be found or puzzles to be solved. The timeline will take the player through the 1930, 1940, 1950 and present times. The story is told by the memories of the grandfather, who guides his grandchild past various monumental city objects.

The game is hosted by the AD and can be played for free on www.geheimvanrotterdam.nl
